If you’re looking for a snack that’s not that sweet, satisfying, and actually good for you, these energy bites are about to become your new go-to. They’re no-bake, naturally sweet, and packed with feel-good ingredients that deliver plenty of energy.
Dates and honey provide natural sweetness and quick energy, while oats bring slow-release carbs and fibre that help keep you full for longer. Nuts and almonds add healthy fats and plant-based protein, chia seeds boost fibre and omega-3s, and cranberries bring a pop of tangy flavour along with antioxidants. Tahini ties everything together with its creamy texture and minerals like calcium and magnesium.
Finished with a touch of ground cocoa and vanilla sugar, these bites feel indulgent while remaining relatively low in calories for their nourishing quality. A couple of bites go a long way, making them perfect for portion control, pre-workout fuel, or an afternoon snack.
Easy to make, easy to store, and incredibly tasty.
Ingredients: (for ~17 bites)
- 80 g dates, chopped into small pieces
- 150 g oats
- 20 g chia seeds
- 80 g dried cranberries
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 50 g tahini
- 5 tablespoons honey
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar (optional)
- 40 g cocoa powder
- 80 g almonds (or raw, unsalted cashews)

Preparation:
In a bowl, combine the finely chopped dates and dried cranberries and cover them with boiling water. Let them soak for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, roughly chop the almonds (or cashews, if you’re using those).

After 10 minutes, drain the dates and cranberries well and transfer them to a bowl. Add the honey, tahini paste, chia seeds, and cinnamon, then mix everything together using your hands until fully combined. Shape the mixture into evenly sized balls and place them on a plate or wooden board. I got about 17 pieces.
In a separate bowl, mix the cocoa powder with the vanilla sugar (if you chose to add it), then roll each energy bite in the cocoa mixture until well coated.

Transfer them back to a platter, and they’re ready to enjoy.
