Wild mushrooms with sour cream sauce – Vegetarian

Prepared this way, the mushrooms make for a quick and tasty meal on their own, or a perfect side dish for a variety of meats, fish, or roasts, depending on your preferences. For example, we once made them to accompany a fish dish, and they paired beautifully.

It’s a delicious and versatile dish that comes together in no time. Whether you choose to serve it on its own or as a side, it’s absolutely wonderful either way.

Ingredients: (for 4 portions)

  • 500 g wild mushroom mix
  • 400 g sour cream
  • Dried dill (fresh works even better, but I didn’t have any at the time)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • A knob of butter
  • One onion

Preparation:

Wash the mushrooms thoroughly, and if any are too large, cut them into smaller pieces. Peel the onion and slice it thinly.

In a large wok, heat a few tablespoons of olive oil and sauté the onion until it becomes translucent. Add the mushrooms and cook for a few minutes until they are well softened. Stir in the sour cream and mix everything thoroughly.

Gradually sprinkle in the flour while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Then add salt, pepper, and dill, followed by the knob of butter. Stir until the butter is fully melted. Turn off the heat, and it’s ready to serve
