Baked brussels sprouts with sausage and bacon

These Baked Brussels Sprouts with Sausage and Bacon are a deliciously savory dish, where crispy bacon and juicy sausage perfectly complement the caramelized, tender sprouts. Roasted to perfection, it’s an easy, flavorful meal or side that everyone will love!

Ingredients: (for ~ 5 servings)

  • 1 kg Brussels sprouts
  • 400 g raw bacon
  • 1 smoked sausage ~300 g
  • 50 g butter
  • 4-5 carrots
  • salt + pepper
  • a tablespoon smoked paprika
  • a few sprigs of fresh parsley

Preparation:

Put a pot of water with a little salt to boil. In the meantime, cut the cabbage in half, remove any outer leaves and when the water starts to boil, blanch for about 8 minutes.

In the meantime, fry the bacon in a pan without oil. When it is browned (don’t make it very crispy), turn off the heat and set aside.

Peel the carrots and cut into thin, even slices. Cut the sausage into slices as well.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. After the cabbage has been blanched, drain it well and transfer the cabbage, carrots, browned bacon, along with the juices left in the pan, butter, sausage, salt + pepper, and smoked paprika to a deep bowl and mix everything well.

Transfer everything to a tray.

Place the tray in the preheated oven for approximately 45-50 minutes or until both the cabbage and sausage are nicely browned and the carrot is cooked.

Wash and chop the parsley and sprinkle it on top.
