This simple yet elegant recipe is a celebration of seasonal asparagus, brought to life with the rich, nutty flavor of Grana Padano. Roasted to perfection, the asparagus becomes tender with just the right amount of crispness, while the cheese adds a savory depth that transforms it into something truly special.
Perfect as a side dish for grilled fish, a juicy steak, or served on its own with a slice of crusty bread, this dish is both nutritious and full of flavor. Whether you’re planning a light lunch, a festive dinner, or a refined brunch addition, baked asparagus with Grana Padano is a delicious and healthy choice that highlights the best of seasonal produce.
Ingredients:
- Salt and pepper to taste,
- 1 bunch of fresh asparagus,
- Juice from half a lemon,
- Olive oil,
- 100 g grated Grana Padano (or Parmesan)

Wash the asparagus thoroughly and trim off the woody ends at the base.

Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Arrange the asparagus spears on the tray, drizzle them with freshly squeezed lemon juice and a bit of olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then sprinkle the grated Grana Padano (or Parmesan) evenly over the top.

Place the tray in the oven and let the asparagus bake for about 15–20 minutes, keeping an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t burn.
A healthy delight, ready in under half an hour: what more could you ask for?
