Belgian waffles with whipped cream, caramelized bananas, raspberries, and chocolate sauce

Indulge in these golden Belgian waffles, perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside, topped with a luscious combination of creamy whipped cream, juicy raspberries, and caramelized banana slices. Finished with a rich, velvety chocolate sauce and a delicate dusting of powdered sugar, this dessert is a delightful balance of textures and flavors — ideal for a special breakfast or an irresistible treat any time of day.

Ingredients: (for 8 pieces)

2 large eggs
200 g flour
~230 ml milk
3 packets of vanilla sugar
50 g melted butter + 20 g melted butter for greasing the molds
1 small teaspoon of salt
Grated zest of one lemon

For the topping:
1 tube of low-fat whipped cream
200 g dark chocolate
1 glass of milk
1 banana
Raspberries
Powdered vanilla sugar

Preparation:

Separate the egg whites from the yolks and whip the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form and the mixture becomes white and firm.

Next, add the melted butter, milk, egg yolks, and lemon zest. Mix again until well combined. Gradually add the flour and continue mixing until the batter reaches a thicker consistency, similar to that of pancake batter.

Heat up the waffle maker and pour about one ladle of batter into each mold. Brush each mold with melted butter using a pastry brush. Cook the waffles until they are golden and fully cooked through.

Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine a glass of milk with the chocolate and gently melt them together. If the mixture seems too thick, add a little more milk until you reach the desired consistency. Remove from heat. In a frying pan, place the banana cut into 8 pieces and sauté each piece for about one minute on each side until lightly caramelized.

Once the waffles are ready, let them cool slightly before decorating. Top each waffle with whipped cream, fresh raspberries, and a piece of banana. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and finish by sprinkling powdered sugar on top for a beautiful and delicious touch.
