Cinnamon and chocolate spirals

A flavorful dessert, perfect for winter days, it goes amazingly with tea, milk, or coffee

Of course, you can prepare it any time of the year.

Ingredients: (for a ~26 cm tart – approx. 12 servings)

  • 160 g brown sugar
  • 2 rolls of puff pastry
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 1 egg
  • cinnamon

Preparation:

Coarsely chop the chocolate with a knife. Roll out the first sheet of dough. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar, cinnamon to taste, and half of the chocolate on it.

Roll the dough and cut the roll into equal slices, approximately 1.5 cm thick.

I recommend using a serrated knife (bread knife) and cutting the slices with wide back-and-forth movements without pressing too hard.

Add baking paper to a baking tray and place the slices in it, leaving a little space on the side (leave some space between them; they will rise).

Proceed in the same way with the second sheet of dough.

Using a pastry brush, brush each spiral with egg.
Put the tray in the oven preheated to 190 degrees for about 25-30 minutes or until the rolls are nicely browned.

When it’s ready, remove the tray from the oven and let it cool a little before serving, but I do recommend serving it warm; it’s delicious (it’s good cold, too).

It goes perfectly with tea, coffee, or warm milk.
