Salty biscuits with green onions and butter – Vegetarian

Delicious appetizer biscuits, made from just a few ingredients, are ideal as a snack or with beer. They are ultra quick to prepare, and they contain just a few ingredients.

They have a super smooth texture and melt in your mouth.

Ingredients: (For ~ 22 pieces)

  • 170 g butter, diced (at room temperature)
  • 5-6 green onions
  • 320 g flour
  • 200 g sour cream
  • 15 g baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • salt + pepper

Preparation:

Wash the onions and cut them into thin strips. Transfer to a bowl and add the flour, baking powder, pepper, and salt (about a teaspoon of salt) to it. Mix everything well with your hands. Add the cubed butter.

With your hands, mix well until the butter and flour are evenly incorporated. Add the sour cream and mix again with your hands until all the ingredients are well mixed together and you have obtained a compact dough.

Turn on the oven to 190 degrees and let it heat up.

Prepare a tray with baking paper. Wisk the egg in a bowl using a fork.

Form balls of dough of equal size, flatten them a little, and place them in the tray. Make sure to leave enough space between the biscuits because they will grow. Finally, brush each biscuit with egg and sprinkle salt and pepper on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the biscuits are nicely browned.
