These potatoes are easy to prepare, delicious, and cute-looking. They are perfect for a festive meal or a regular meal. For the vegan version, use only olive oil, not butter.
Ingredients: (for 6 servings – the tray I used is 28/19 cm)
- 7-8 medium yellow or red potatoes
- 3-4 medium sweet potatoes
- 2-3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
- Mix spices from: one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of garlic powder, one teaspoon of onion powder, one teaspoon of smoked paprika, one teaspoon of turmeric, one teaspoon of dried oregano and one teaspoon of ground pepper
- 100 g butter
- 30 ml olive oil
- 2 medium onions
- 6-7 cloves of garlic

Preparation:
Wash the potatoes well with an abrasive sponge. Do not peel them. Cut them into thin slices using a mandoline grater (if you don’t have a grater, you can also cut them by hand, but it will take longer, and the slices will not be even).

After you have finished cutting the potatoes, peel the onion and grate it on the mandolin slicer. Add the onion slices with the potatoes, add the spices, the rosemary leaves peeled from the stems, the peeled and finely minced garlic, and the butter that you have previously melted in the microwave for ~30 seconds – 1 minute. Mix everything well using your hands until all the potato slices are covered with spices and butter as evenly as possible.

Turn on the oven and let it heat up to 200 degrees Celsius. While the oven is heating up, place the potatoes in the tray, as seen in the images:

Finally, sprinkle the olive oil evenly on top, sprinkle salt and pepper and bake for ~40-45 minutes or until the potatoes are nicely browned on top.
They can be served as a side dish with a steak, fried eggs, fish, etc. Or with a salad. They also go great with a spoonful of sour cream or yogurt on the side or with garlic sauce.
It is a very versatile dish that allows you to improvise.
